It has been one-thousand-years since the Battle of Yavin, the Sith Empire has finally emerged from beyond the known regions of space to attack the Republic. But in the time from Darth Sideous's reign this new invasion, many things in the glaxy have changed.
The Mandalorians have regained strength and station within the galaxy and among the outer rim worlds. Now training force sensitives in their own teachings, the current Mandalore is indeed a force-user. And while he is far from corrupted by the dark side, he is no jedi. They now stand on the edge of choosing which side to help.
The Sith were wildly successful in their first attacks on the Republic, support for the group grew from the usual places in the outer rims. Pulling more and more planets into their dark grip, the Republic had no choice but to respond. They sent diplomats, though they thought it would just be formalities before war. They were surprised when the Sith immediately began diplomatic negotiations, taking some planets for a preemptive cease-fire and to stop expanding. Remembering old wounds from the Sith, the Republic agreed. The jedi were obviously less than
pleased.
It is a little over one year into this tenuous peace that an unlikely message has made its way to the galactic senate. A droid from Raxus Prime has asked for the planet to be annexed into the Republic, bringing to the forefront a new issue rarely speculated on: droid civil rights. Or more specifically sapient droid civil rights. An envoy of diplomats and jedi have been sent to assess the situation and report to the Republic their opinion of the situation and whether or not annexation is possible or a good idea.
